Incorporating a Sdn Bhd through our group carries no charge

The company secretarial practice within our group, C & C, holds the licence for this work. Where C & C is appointed as your company secretary, the incorporation is carried out at no cost to you — inclusive of the statutory registration fee payable to SSM. The package covers the name search and reservation, the appointment of directors and shareholders, the registered office, the first company secretary, the resolutions required to open a bank account, and the accompanying lodgements with SSM.

Company secretarial work thereafter is charged as a fixed annual fee, set out in writing before the engagement begins. LL Chai & Co. carries the bookkeeping and accounting work alongside it.

How we work

The conduct of an engagement

Technical competence is the baseline. What distinguishes one practice from another is how an engagement is run: what is agreed at the outset, who is accountable for the file, and how statutory obligations are tracked.

  • Scope and fees agreed in writing. Deliverables, timing and the basis of our fee are set out before work begins.
  • A named point of contact. Each engagement is assigned to a member of the firm who holds the file and knows its history.
  • Work reviewed before issue. Accounts, computations and filings are reviewed within the firm before they reach you or a regulator.
  • Statutory dates recorded centrally. Filing obligations for every client sit in a compliance calendar reviewed each month.
  • Transfers handled by the firm. Where you are moving from another practice, we correspond with them to obtain ledgers, opening balances and statutory records.
Engagement process

How an engagement begins

Initial discussion

A meeting at our office, at your premises, or a call — whichever suits you — to understand the business, the present state of the records and what remains outstanding.

Written proposal

We review a sample period, then set out the scope, the reporting timetable and the fee in writing for your consideration.

Transfer and setup

Ledgers, opening balances and statutory records are obtained from your previous adviser, reconciled, and the accounting system configured.

Ongoing cycle

Records are submitted, the period is closed and reported, and matters requiring a decision are raised with you.

Common questions

Accounting in Malaysia — answered

How much does bookkeeping cost in Malaysia?
It depends on three things: how many transactions you run, how many bank accounts need reconciling, and whether you are SST registered. We review a sample month at no charge and set out a fixed monthly fee in writing before any engagement begins.
Do I need to be SST registered?
SST registration is mandatory once your taxable turnover crosses the prescribed threshold in a 12-month period. We monitor your rolling turnover each month so that the approach of the threshold is identified in good time.
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes. We handle the handover ourselves: we request your ledgers, opening balances and statutory files, reconcile the closing position, and confirm what is outstanding before we start. You sign an authorisation letter and the correspondence is handled by the firm.
When is the deadline to file Form C for a Sdn Bhd?
Form C must be filed within seven months of your financial year end. CP204 tax estimates are due 30 days before the basis period begins. We track both dates for every client and prepare the filings ahead of the deadline.
Do you work with AutoCount, SQL Accounting or Xero?
Yes. We work in AutoCount, SQL Accounting, Xero and QuickBooks, and can migrate you from spreadsheets onto a proper system if you have outgrown Excel.
Where are your clients based?
Our clients are spread across Malaysia — Johor, the Klang Valley and beyond. We meet clients in person as a matter of course: at our office in Kulai, or at your own premises where that suits you better. Records can equally be exchanged digitally and matters dealt with by telephone, so distance does not determine whether we can act.
